Kalapana has been an iconic figure of the contemporary Hawaiian music scene for over 40 years. With it fan base covering the United States west coast, Japan, Guam, Saipan and the Philippines, Kalapana frequently travels to sold out shows. The University of Hawaii Saxophone Choir began in the spring semester of 1996. From its grass roots beginning of 10 members, the group has continued to grow which now includes university students, community members and as well as professional saxophonists.
